  • Co-Founder & Co-Owner

    Over a 14 year career as a Certified Child Life Specialist working in healthcare organizations, Dagney has gained an incredible wealth of knowledge and skills in a variety of settings and populations. With experience in emergency departments, inpatient units, outpatient sub-specialty clinics, diagnosis-specific support groups and camps, school re-entry programs, and telehealth, Dagney also has a special interest in supporting individuals with neurodiversity. She brings together her background of working as a paraprofessional in schools and a kinesiology degree, with her child development degree and child life training, to tailor support to the individualized and unique needs of each child and family and the challenges they are facing. She is passionate about creating proactive plans to adjust the setting or team’s approach, in order to create an environment that matches the definition of success for that individual or family. Dagney is currently pursuing her Master’s of Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University, graduating May 2025.

    As a Certified Child Life Specialist for the past 12 years, Marne has trained and worked in healthcare organizations across the United States. With the opportunity to see the impact that different regions, demographics, and cultures have on healthcare, Marne became passionate about using the lens of child development and family systems & context to improve healthcare delivery. She uses her Master’s in Family and Human Development to elevate the importance of human behavior and relational connections, not only in supporting children and families, but also between interdisciplinary team members. Her career includes supporting patients within inpatient units, emergency departments, intensive care units, outpatient sub-specialty clinics, diagnosis-specific camps, virtual school re-entry, and telehealth. Marne has a special interest in chronic illness and supporting children and teens in their ongoing understanding of their diagnosis, and increasing their transition readiness for moving from pediatric to adult healthcare. She is also passionate about supporting students and has been an adjunct faculty Teaching Specialist at the University of Minnesota since 2018. Marne is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Leadership & Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University, graduating August 2027.

    We are so thankful to live in a community and state rich in expertise when it comes to working with children and families. Whether providing child life-specific support, or other specialized options such as Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), Montessori Education, Infant Mental Health, Family Life Education, or other child development and family systems-based approaches, our contractors bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Coping Copilots.
